Springlike weather to overtake southern and eastern states
Lots of snow is falling in the Pacific Northwest.
An active storm track continues across the United States. With the pathway pointing toward the Great Lakes, storms will be able to draw some springlike weather north in coming days.
Weather Watch
A hint of spring. It’s about to feel more like April than January in parts of the southern and eastern United States. High pressure over the eastern states late this week, and a series of storms driving into the Great Lakes region, will help pump unseasonably mild air northward. In addition to dozens of record warm lows, at least a dozen record highs are possible each day of the next several. A cold front exiting the coast on Sunday will put an end to this round of warmth.

Northwest snow. Winter storm warnings are in effect for the Washington and Oregon Cascades through Thursday afternoon with more feet of snow in the forecast. To the south, an extreme cold watch is up for Thursday night in areas around San Francisco that are inland from the coast.
