As a forecaster, journalist, and certified weather freak (there's a badge, trust me), a big part of my job is analyzing the playing field of global weather and related climate change stories to decide which ones to spend more time on.

In this every-weekday newsletter, and generally in around 500 words, I'm going to bring that directly to you.

Stories and data will cover the whole globe, but as a D.C.-based person there will likely be a bend toward the United States. Also, a previous me worked in the policy world in foreign affairs, so my interest in looking beyond our borders is significant.

Connecting the dots, from day to day and between weather and climate, will be a throughline of the daily feed.

The Weather Retort is part of a larger project I am spinning up that will offer focused, informed, and personalized weather and climate data for you and/or your business.
