Flooding risk dots the land into the weekend
We're passing the midway point of climatological summer but there's still plenty ahead.
It’s been continually stormy in the U.S. in recent times, and the pattern is more or less similar ahead. There will be some changes with time, including building heat in the central portion of the country into next week.
Weather Watch
Daily flood risk persists. Multiple areas of flood threat exist Friday, from Nevada and southern New Mexico to the upper Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Gulf Coast. With a weak front draped around northern Virginia, a Level 3 out of 4 flood risk is up for the Shenandoah Valley and nearby spots.

Building heat. Extreme heat warnings are up for central Arkansas, with heat advisories surrounding. Additional heat advisories are in place for the Carolinas and southern Florida. Although there’s a brief break inbound to the Northeast early next week, heat seems likely to build over the eastern half of the country thereafter.
